Privacy Policy
Effective May 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how OpenLenz (“OpenLenz”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our service. We aim to keep this short, honest, and human-readable.
01Information we collect
We collect:
- Account data — your email address, name (optional), and a hashed password if you use email-and-password sign-in.
- Listing inputs — the Zillow/Realtor URLs you submit, photos you upload, and any address hints you provide.
- Render artifacts — the rendered videos and intermediate files we produce on your behalf.
- Billing data — Stripe customer and transaction identifiers when you subscribe or purchase add-ons. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage logs — request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and event timestamps, used for security and debugging.
02How we use it
We use this information to provide and operate the service, to run renders you request, to process payments, to detect and prevent abuse, to send transactional email about your account, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
03AI processing
Renders pass through generative-AI providers (e.g. for video-clip generation and image classification). Inputs and prompts may be transmitted to those providers under their own policies. We do not authorize providers to use your inputs to train their models, where the provider offers that control. We retain a copy of the raw inputs only as long as needed to produce and re-render the deliverable.
04Sharing
We share information only with:
- infrastructure providers (hosting, database, storage);
- generative-AI providers used to produce renders;
- Stripe, for payment processing;
- email providers for transactional notifications;
- law-enforcement or regulators where legally required.
Each provider is bound by its own contract and privacy policy.
05Cookies and analytics
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage; if so, we configure providers to anonymize IP addresses and avoid cross-site tracking. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
06Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Listing-input photos and intermediate render artifacts are retained for as long as we need them to deliver and re-render your videos, typically the lifetime of your account. Billing records are retained as required by tax and accounting law. Deleting your account removes account data and submitted inputs within 30 days, except where law requires retention.
07Security
We use standard security practices including TLS for data in transit, hashed passwords, scoped database credentials, and least-privilege access for staff. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify affected users without undue delay.
08Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for certain processing. Email hello@openlenz.net and we will respond within a reasonable time.
09Children
OpenLenz is not intended for use by people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10International users
OpenLenz operates from and stores data in the United States and the European Union. By using the service, you consent to the transfer and processing of information in those regions, subject to applicable safeguards.
11Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect.
